Every woman has a story to tell and we feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to share our personal story with so many others. Our start came from just being friends, a couple of mums who both happen to really love jewellery—especially fine Sterling Silver Jewellery.

We first met when the oldest of each of our three children started first grade. Fatefully, we had both signed up to be room mothers and immediately became the best of friends. After chatting about how we could earn a little extra cash, we tried a few new business ideas. We had a lot of fun, but it wasn’t until we each took $25 (about £16) from our grocery fund and pursued our passion for Sterling Silver Jewellery that we really began to love our “jobs.” We started designing our own jewellery creations and hosting fun Parties in our friends’ homes. Quickly, one Party led to another, and it wasn’t long before the girls at the Parties started telling us, “You look like you are having so much fun. We wish we could have your jobs!”

So in 1997, after hundreds of successful Parties, we took the next big step and Silpada Designs was born. We created an exclusive line of Silpada Designs Sterling Silver Jewellery and our very first Silpada Designs Catalogue. Then, we invited friends and Customers to become the first independent Silpada Designs Representatives.

Today, there are thousands of independent Representatives across the United States, Canada and the UK chasing their dreams, and we’re happy to say that our basement-born business is helping to bring each of their dreams to life, which, for us, is the truest and most rewarding part of our journey. Our story goes to show that with a little passion and a sincere desire to help others, anything is possible.
